worst 6 months ever

This deployment has been horrible.  One bad thing happening after another.  I have just been hunkering down and riding it out.  We are finally settling down, and my husband will be home in less than 2 weeks.  Man it has been a long ordeal.  Things are going better, and I am looking forward to getting back to normal life. **** I often will link to things on Amazon. What my husband will be driving when done with training.

I saw this on I wish Wednesday on blah, blah, blah, blog, and it is funny. This is what my husband will have to be driving when he is done with training and his knees give out, and his back gives out. (I’m just kidding, he may have to wait till he is actually old.) **** I often will link to things on Amazon. "Navy Dude"

Now that my husband is gone, we have decided to replace him. We have renamed this build a bear koala, and he is now going to go places and have fun with us in my husband’s stead. This weekend we went swimming at my in-law’s house, and Navy Dude came along. He seemed to have a good time. Here he is ready for his water gun fight. I’m hungry, time to eat. **** I often will link to things on {Read More}

husband is deployed

My husband just flew out yesterday for South Carolina. This is the first leg of his journey to Iraq. I miss him already, and it is going to be a long year. He is planning to take a two week leave in March, which will be half way through his time, and the kids’ spring break will fall during that time so it will be the perfect time to have a vacation. Now we have to decide where in the {Read More}

new deployment

My husband is now going to be going to Iraq for a year. He leaves in July to South Carolina, then to Kuwait in August. Looks like a little trip to South Carolina is in order. That sounds like a fun final trip of the summer before school starts. **** I often will link to things on Amazon. "milestone"

Yay, I just finished running a full mile. I have been slowly adding on to my run each day, and today I was able to finish a full mile without stopping to walk. Now to keep that mile and slowly add another mile a piece at a time. It feels so good to have a goal achieved. **** I often will link to things on Amazon. another summer activity

Last week my husband took the kids to the Bass Pro shops summer camp activities. It was pretty cool from how it sounds. They got pins for completing a bird watching course, and there are camping courses, a laser shooting gallery, crafts to do, s’mores in the evening. If you live near one, you should check it out. **** I often will link to things on Amazon. These are usually affiliate links that will pay me a couple of dollars {Read More}

summer vacation activities

Since my husband is now job hunting, he has time on his hands while the kids are on summer break. Yesterday was my day off, so we all went to the San Diego Zoo together on spur of the moment (we have passes). We also were able to pick up my daughter’s best friend on the way to the zoo. It was a beautiful day. Here is a picture of the tigers. They were having a nice snooze right by {Read More}

deployment cancelled

It is official. My husband’s deployment to Afghanistan has been cancelled. This is good, because Afghanistan is not a safe place. On the bad side, now he has to go out and find a job. He may go ahead and take a temporary Navy job. There is a Navy job opening for 2 years in Norfolk, Virginia. That could be fun to experience Virginia. The only drawback is that since he is reserves, the Navy doesn’t move his family with {Read More}
