Super Simple 3 Ingredient Ice Cream in a Baggy

For the summer months, my teenage kids wanted to do some science and craft and creating type of activities.  They got their inspiration from the Myth Busters and their line on the show where they say “Don’t try this at home”.  Well, the kids have started a youtube channel called We Tried it at Home.  We will be doing whatever strikes the kids’ fancy.  The internet is full of activities for young kids to do, but our activities are going {Read More}

Smelly Shoe Solution

I have a teenage boy with very smelly feet in my house. His feet are so smelly that it is considered a form of torture to be shut in a room with his shoes. We tried powders, sprays, deodorants, and Lysol to no effect. Those trials resulted in smelly shoes that had a hint of citrus (or whatever smell the spray had). So after some internet research by my dad and I, we have found a solution that I think {Read More}

Graham Cracker Gingerbread Houses

The confetti eggs are regular raw eggs that are emptied, filled with confetti, and the hole is covered with tissue, and then painted. The kids buy the eggs and then break them over each others’ heads. It can be messy, with confetti everywhere, but it is really fun for the kids. They love to break eggs on people.  I was {Read More}

Our new pet

Ok, I vowed that we would not be getting any more pets.  I think that two dogs and two guinea pigs are plenty of work for the average family.  I guess that I am now eating my words.  We now have a new pet king snake.  It is my favorite type of pet though in that we caught it in forest, and we will set him free right back where we caught him when we are done having him as {Read More}
